Aki Moriuchi.

This is an exhibition which consists of small canvases, all of which show
fragmental memories and findings of my personal journeys through landscape.
Landscape to me is not only what I can see but also spatial existence in mind.

Oil paints mixed with various materials create thick layers of surfaces.
Continuously scraped, sanded off and applied with more paints on top –
this technique makes my paintings look similar to the ceramics I made as a potter.
Uneven paints or scoured surfaces may reveal something buried underneath,
perhaps, imagining passage of time.
